A day late and a finish!

Thanks to the football last night I dragged out my sewing machine and made an attempt to finish my stitched hearts. Technically the hearts were finished last night, still in time for the 25th deadline for the Christmas finishes and the ribbons were completed this morning. Hooray! So you can tick me off for a finish now Narelle instead of a half finish.

Now for the finish....
Friday night I put the final quilting stitches into my Boys story quilt while waiting for the boys to get home from a party. I just love staying up late and sewing but I have to have a sleep in the next morning.
Yesterday afternoon I popped over to Jemima's shop to buy some binding.
Found some lovely fabric to frame the quilt. I sewed the binding on last night and put in another night shift to hand sew the binding down. The lord of the rings kept me company both nights. Love those movies and thank god they are so looong!(have the extended versions too)
Well here are the pics...

My next quilting project is my Down in the garden. I have the top, the batting and the backing! All right to go. Think I will save this one for Quiltober this year.
Happy days!!

Marina

  13. really cute quilt: I really like the little appliqued train: you should show some close ups of the different areas on the quilt. :-) And thanks for the info on the interfacing to put behind the embroidery. We don't have those exact brands here in the states, but I just chose a very light weight woven fusible and am stitching on it now: it's working great!! Can't wait to see your down in the garden quilt: would love to see the top even now without the quilting!! Have a great week! :-) Helen LeBrett

  16. I just spent some time looking over your posts for the Boy's Story quilt: I love the fabrics you chose for it and your stitching is so lovely!! And what a fun quilt!! I'll bet you had fun doing it! :-P You certainly are one good stitcher!! I'd be tempted to make one myself, but with two daughters and no grandchildren on the horizon, it's not in the stars for me yet. :-P and I also checked your DITG quilt: so lovely!!! You are an inspiration to me!! I just started a little stitchery that has a little border of flowers. I 'll probably put it into a stitching case for a friend of mine who quilts. I'll try and post it on my flicker account so you can see it. I'll let you know when I have it up. Have a great week!! Helen In Healdsburg

hello

Time is getting away from me it would be lovely to be able to slow it down. Crafting inspiration seems to be lacking as I try to finish off...
