I have finished not one but both of my little cross stitch pincushions. I have really enjoyed stitching them and have even ordered another one from Simone . I chose to have it emailed and at roughly $4.00 was a great price. The linen was a little tricky but I mastered it in the end but not before having to unpick half my border on the little vase one as by the time I returned to the start I discovered I was out by 1 thread!! I fudged it and thought nobody but me will ever notice it- famous last words. That was the problem-every time I looked at it saw the mistake. I traced back to try to find the error but didn't until I was going back doing the crosses. Well I had to unpick half of it and do it properly. Now it looks perfect (in my eyes anyway). My cushion making skills are another issue but practise will make perfect.
The fabric on the bird lady cushion is one I swapped for the kit fabric as I have a purpose in mind for this one and this fabric suits much better. (The trimming on the vase one has since been glued on and the buttons are a little personal addition.)
thanks to everyone who offered a home to my neglected patterns-Just waiting for Karen to make contact.
Happy stitching
Marina
Holidays are a good time to do such fine and lovely work. Glad that you are enjoying yourself.
ReplyDeleteoh Marina these are very cute, well done.xx
ReplyDeleteThey are Both Lovely...
ReplyDeletecheers
Cute little pin cushions - the linen/fabric you used looks so fine - such tiny stitches. I haven't cross stitched for a while but it would be nice to do the odd project.
ReplyDeleteLovely cross stitch. You have reminded me I have one to do, might put it on my projects to do list for this year. :-)
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful Marina and the finishing looks perfect. I love the patterns.
ReplyDeleteLove the pin cushions. There is something eminently satisfying about doing cross stitch embroidery.
ReplyDeleteJust lovely Marina. They are both so sweet. You clever thing you stitching on linen. I have tried for many years and could never master it so it's good old aida cloth for me. I haven't done any for ages might be a nice change.
ReplyDeleteThose are lovely Marina... another wonderful talent...
ReplyDeleteso intricate...

I really love the bird lady Marina, that fabric looks gorgeous. I confess I have to use Aida cloth as large as possible because my eyes are useless. So I'm envious of your delightful pin cushions.
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty, much too pretty to use. Interesting what you say about your cushion making skills... I am hopeless at anything that involves stuffing, always comes out lumpy and bumpy somehow. Don't know what the secret is. Yours do look lovely though.
ReplyDeleteCute they look good to me Marina!
ReplyDeleteSweet pincushions Marina ... enjoy your holiday sewing/stitching time :)
ReplyDeleteThankfully our turn at the heatwave is passing so maybe I'll get more productive now.
Waauw Marina. You crosstittching pincussion wunderful. Yes I know Simone had such lovely crosstitch patterns.
ReplyDeleteI used to do a lot of cross stitch (in my younger days lol) but I stopped when I couldn't see it properly. Reading glasses didn't help but I now have SEWING glasses, even stronger so I am looking forward to finishing a couple I started years ago and gave up in disgust.
ReplyDeleteYour projects turned out just gorgeous. Love the Bird Lady.
ReplyDeleteCross stitch is a lovely medium for details. Look forward to your next little project.
Enjoy your holidays.
I love cross stitch too and yours is gorgeous.
