this and that

thought I would share some pics of what I am working on last week and also this week.
I am hoping to get this baltimore block done so I can get to the lucy kemper redo block...
there were some initial hiccups due to not tracing the flowers accurately enough but I borrowed mum's ones and the results are so much better. the light blues were in a mail of lovely blue scraps from Susan (thimblestitch) that were meant to go to miss Lucy but I couldn't resist using some in this block, there is still plenty for Miss Lucy. lots of leaves to go.....
these stitcheries will be a KK pressie, they seem to be taking ages, there is a third one traced but I don't know if I will manage to get it done in time.

Here is a finished top... my pretty clamshells. I finished the applique border a few weeks ago and hadn't shown it. I like it a lot and it will make a pretty baby or dolly blanket. Don't trust those around here for it to be a table runner!

Now for some pics from the quilt show. There were quite a few people through which is great for such a small group. Rosalie and Liz popped in for a look and a cup of tea and chat which was great.
On to the pics... there were more quilts hanging but I didn't  snap them all...

have a great week
Marina.

Hello Marina,

I do love your clams hell piece, you know it would make a great centre piece for a quilt. Great stitcheries you are working on so much character in those old homes. Thanks for the photo's of the patchwork display, very inspirational.

Happy days.

Thanks for all the pics! I LOVE looking t quilts. Your clam shells is my favorite. I've been wanting to try clamshells, but haven't quite got there yet. Is there a pattern for that, or is it your own design?

Love your Clamshell quilt to bits! It's gorgeous. How I'd love to go to a workshop with Irene Blanck... still green around the gills when I think of you getting to do that. In a nice way of course. Both your Baltimore block and your stitcheries are beautiful too. Hope you manage to find time to stitch the third one. Great photos of the quilt show... what a talented lot you are. xxx

Fantastic photos and some lovely finishes by you. How come Christmas always sneaks up, so many plans but always a rush in the end!

Lovely finish with your clam shells and way too much work in it for an accidental spill if it was used as a runner.
Pretty blues in your block ... those leaves will sprout in good time :)
Gorgeous displays at the quilt show.

I had to come visit your clamshells again as I love it so much! I have some scraps that I thought would be perfect for this, and when I enlarged the pic while showing this to a friend, I realized that you used the exact same line!!! What size are your clam shells, please. I've never made any before, and think this will be the perfect piece to try them.
