Just need more hours in the day I'm afraid.</p><p>Latest row of the zoo quilt has been done, a plan has been hatched and implemented for the sweet Kathy Schmitz stitcheries and that has involved some fabric hunting, one of my favourite sports. Would you like to see ?</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPKlexbQwVXXrBy7qfebbtDtdImGpsxuSemTGAjdv6djx1fFMvwTkJCcgDAZGNtoqFzMvFOFr_S0zJNqPH6goBTunZXBu2WWkIE_2zJh6PQW8IddNU0Dc9_1B_mTmHlAoEAwOuBS5QJQNvoda52abfnpufVg7n7iabomPdSGT5-c1AtTzuW5arufkF5Io/s1440/7BCA32CA-7B20-4C5C-8387-11B47C254B03.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="1440" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPKlexbQwVXXrBy7qfebbtDtdImGpsxuSemTGAjdv6djx1fFMvwTkJCcgDAZGNtoqFzMvFOFr_S0zJNqPH6goBTunZXBu2WWkIE_2zJh6PQW8IddNU0Dc9_1B_mTmHlAoEAwOuBS5QJQNvoda52abfnpufVg7n7iabomPdSGT5-c1AtTzuW5arufkF5Io/w640-h480/7BCA32CA-7B20-4C5C-8387-11B47C254B03.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjgL68s7ok-X9iUatYK8FFbMjfAw8Kq5EKHWSOvM_sTvYadfMrTn4sL3pRAMxbAmu0xHiZQhoXEmRIFc2aBprY6Y7MLndqKX8gVRDZZWPtcSxoWRwu04UIEWNTYb5XtKPbdwkO-cwTDopUuZGYc1fDtHq-AYp9nB6lCa_2XDe4n7PDTAiTN9chn9opXeE/s1440/181C51EE-42D9-4E95-8F34-69E982333F3C.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="1440" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjgL68s7ok-X9iUatYK8FFbMjfAw8Kq5EKHWSOvM_sTvYadfMrTn4sL3pRAMxbAmu0xHiZQhoXEmRIFc2aBprY6Y7MLndqKX8gVRDZZWPtcSxoWRwu04UIEWNTYb5XtKPbdwkO-cwTDopUuZGYc1fDtHq-AYp9nB6lCa_2XDe4n7PDTAiTN9chn9opXeE/w640-h480/181C51EE-42D9-4E95-8F34-69E982333F3C.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p>I am using up leftover background fabrics and also my small stash of leftover Liberty fabrics. I did need to do some buying to add to my stash as it didn't have enough variety. Thankfully GJ's sell and cut down to a 25"square so this was not an exorbitant expense and I could pick lots of styles. These dresdens were left over from a quilt I made a little while ago that I ended up gifting to a lovely work friend. Now I will get a version to keep-well that is the plan lol.</p><p>So it seems this is becoming a real leftovers quilt, you have to feel good about that.</p><p>A peek at some of the later stitcheries that were completed....</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; All my hopes for social catch ups and sewing have been crushed thanks to our old friend Covid. I started to be unwell last Wednesday and thought I just had a flu as Covid tests showed a negative result but low and behold on Saturday I tested positive. It explained why I felt so bad. Does anyone else feel like that? </p><p>This weekend I will be spending time in the zoo to get some more progress happening on row three. Last weekend I prepped the last two borders for the Basket case quilt, these will be the last borders and I am excited to finish as it will mean I can start something new!</p><p>there are two projects just waiting to be started....</p><p>I have had to control myself to resist starting but allowed myself the luxury of preparing backgrounds for the tilda design and have made templates for both.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; It was great to sew and chat with this lovely group and I got to thinking about all the friendships and acquaintances I have met through blogging over the years. Whether it is for a short while or a long while they are valued connections. I thought it might be nice to pop in and put up a few post as I have been busily sewing over the past months. There should be enough to supply me with quite a few posts.</p><p>In the last post I made there was a list of projects to be done..... that list has changed a bit since then so it's a good place to pick up</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-E28waLe0QVBz9Oqf7QzutboCGsEmzw91ChsRWWDHF-XTWUUSserAkfTop1vguh-9doZubZjlyb2eCyWMM-nTMv8RSOP5etLrcQR5_husLjTkYDcVeiIsHUbH6Lmc69porm54H-bsD_J5W5XCpMe_5jDijd_r0-0X7h6B4f9_DcKjX5ZTLZZbBqD-/s3024/25531284-3DDB-4B39-BEFE-FD56DA531CE5.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2439" data-original-width="3024" height="258" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-E28waLe0QVBz9Oqf7QzutboCGsEmzw91ChsRWWDHF-XTWUUSserAkfTop1vguh-9doZubZjlyb2eCyWMM-nTMv8RSOP5etLrcQR5_husLjTkYDcVeiIsHUbH6Lmc69porm54H-bsD_J5W5XCpMe_5jDijd_r0-0X7h6B4f9_DcKjX5ZTLZZbBqD-/s320/25531284-3DDB-4B39-BEFE-FD56DA531CE5.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>1. there has been major progress on basket case <div>2. It is a big tick off my list but now I need to check what I will work on next.</p><p>I loved working with the beautiful blues and it can now go back home to be quilted.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj79JPPHPyBRx_Z48eYkbseO8Kqc1_Lih-_hK6I8HqdIlHLTlq0E22txhI0Yzhy9yk3boEsofqRHaJ-3I6Sjp5X4WnmWuRo13TQ25LIA4UUeScuZutB1Y5mZxsCLqCdhohWYtwz83HF9PM8o4Ca2Zecm9geBcbcI8xIqqkm1HL22Vb5qAmetBVazpF2/s2960/DD6A8927-6003-44C3-AD03-0B5794180A45.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2960" data-original-width="2817" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj79JPPHPyBRx_Z48eYkbseO8Kqc1_Lih-_hK6I8HqdIlHLTlq0E22txhI0Yzhy9yk3boEsofqRHaJ-3I6Sjp5X4WnmWuRo13TQ25LIA4UUeScuZutB1Y5mZxsCLqCdhohWYtwz83HF9PM8o4Ca2Zecm9geBcbcI8xIqqkm1HL22Vb5qAmetBVazpF2/w610-h640/DD6A8927-6003-44C3-AD03-0B5794180A45.jpeg" width="610" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">Last night I joined Chiooky and some other lovely ladies for a zoom sit and sew. It's always lovely to see what everyone is working on as we sit and chat. I decided to work on the binding for my Rescue quilt and got it all done .</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">I had found this top in hard rubbish collection pile which had been in the rain all day. I just had to take it home. Unfortunately some of the colours had bled and didn't wash out but it was still worthy of a finish. I was debating about soaking the quilt in No run to try to get the bleeds out but I think I will let it go for now as they aren't that noticeable when you look at the big picture.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">I don't think it was made that long ago as I have some of the light colour fabrics in my collection that I bought in the last 5 years. A work colleague who took up patchwork after seeing some of my quilts made this gorgeous sew along quilt by Laundry Basket quilts. She is a gun at piecing but hasn't taken to applique. I offered to do the applique borders for her. Who wouldn't love to work with those beautiful blues I ask?</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The kit came with glued laser cut pieces that you stick and iron on to the border. Didn't come with a guide for the applique just need to look at the pattern picture. I did my best but the iron on pieces were horrendous to work with. Gumming up the needle and very hard on the fingers. I had done one side and put off continuing as I couldn't bare the thought of finishing. After a while I got the idea to ask for any scraps from the piecing and to ask if she didn't mind me needle turning instead of the glued pieces.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">She gave me the all clear so I got to pulling all the pieces off and unpicking the blanket stitch applique. It was quite a job but I could see the light ahead.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Two borders are complete and now I'm working on this solidly to get it finished for her.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I have sewn the vine on both remaining sides and also the large berries on both.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Now to the leaves!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">It didn't come with a deadline but I don't like to dally on others projects. Mind you she has finished another five tops since giving me this one.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Hoping a finish to share soon then it will be back to my list of projects....</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Which one to work on?</div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinI9fh_A-8sdlq1TyGAk1GBeTsmP-HLWiK108DIc0HD2qiwaxurOAJ3Dv2FnSdIht1-Gm05lZiRZhF1gECIXpBVelha62WpM7t633Ay-p8rvQFOJhWv3GDeDEUrKqhyESXsZZg2MIdh92-PTpwj-p7J0t1rrlPjO2MttSxq_TlkksWVSl24PT8T6L2/s4032/CF786617-A7D6-4C69-B5CA-5D906F6E7875.jpeg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinI9fh_A-8sdlq1TyGAk1GBeTsmP-HLWiK108DIc0HD2qiwaxurOAJ3Dv2FnSdIht1-Gm05lZiRZhF1gECIXpBVelha62WpM7t633Ay-p8rvQFOJhWv3GDeDEUrKqhyESXsZZg2MIdh92-PTpwj-p7J0t1rrlPjO2MttSxq_TlkksWVSl24PT8T6L2/w480-h640/CF786617-A7D6-4C69-B5CA-5D906F6E7875.jpeg" width="480" /></a></div><br /> Happy days<p></p><p><br /></p><p>Marina</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix_glm1xq8CgmTo9pdAIi7RHCC0wrusIJJkwvzNoRCA15qQH0H83q7NLLyIcjUbqHxIsA1NJvMS1iaUEvnZREbFdLrIoUWZTwvU6nmcpSzHDhI_6GtT2kGZTNd0HWr4W9hBvQbih9ciaW_6jJgssVTc2Y7i1XTODOvwsalieQyVTrofpDhyHU5PVJE/s2765/3908BD81-9E98-4CB1-AC8A-F22621CC7EDF.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2765" data-original-width="2302" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix_glm1xq8CgmTo9pdAIi7RHCC0wrusIJJkwvzNoRCA15qQH0H83q7NLLyIcjUbqHxIsA1NJvMS1iaUEvnZREbFdLrIoUWZTwvU6nmcpSzHDhI_6GtT2kGZTNd0HWr4W9hBvQbih9ciaW_6jJgssVTc2Y7i1XTODOvwsalieQyVTrofpDhyHU5PVJE/s320/3908BD81-9E98-4CB1-AC8A-F22621CC7EDF.jpeg" width="266" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>marinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04996325525301046700noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2153748473771681458.post-40480686187806270692022-07-04T11:10:00.003+10:002022-07-04T11:10:09.943+10:00Social sewing weekendThe past weekend was spent partaking in some socialising with crafty friends.<div>Saturday evening I joined in with Chooky's zoom session and it was lovely to spend some time with the lovely ladies that were on. I hadn't had a chance to join in on a session for awhile so it was lovely to chit chat while I worked away on my crochet blanket which is progressing beautifully.</div><div> </div><div>On Sunday the Gisborne girls and the City girls got to have a long awaited catch up. We haven't all been together since all this covid business. Tracee was our hostess with the mostess and she spoiled us with an amazing lunch. This pattern just seemed to jump into my hand, you know how it is?</p><p>Earlier this month I decided to get the second pattern book of Australian native flowers to add variety to my blocks. Liberty and Tilda stash is being used for the orange peels and they look quite pretty. I also thought it would be a great way to incorporate some of my doilies that I had found while op-shopping. I think they lend themselves well to this project.</p><p>My embroidery skills are a little rusty but I am enjoying revisiting those skills and I am hoping they will continue to improve as I learn new stitches too.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZdOU8VwsCj9jDTQ_yAJhBVztQXQHNyak-lj2IjwXVrZz4qdFdWjsjX4zsaLe4HR2An06LHqHOQ1Bt5pfPhQLH--iXzICTmQJQy9ixoeWk1OS4SPMZO6MOBEHVptRxCOHbSGngejdVTCrVatuaJj6kZglokpbHiv89Qgaj9KfcO_YeXGtfu619XL9P/s4032/2E7F8BEA-4023-447A-A08B-745595CCE24D.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZdOU8VwsCj9jDTQ_yAJhBVztQXQHNyak-lj2IjwXVrZz4qdFdWjsjX4zsaLe4HR2An06LHqHOQ1Bt5pfPhQLH--iXzICTmQJQy9ixoeWk1OS4SPMZO6MOBEHVptRxCOHbSGngejdVTCrVatuaJj6kZglokpbHiv89Qgaj9KfcO_YeXGtfu619XL9P/w480-h640/2E7F8BEA-4023-447A-A08B-745595CCE24D.jpeg" width="480" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjozC2tprR0tttDgPlZF7Q5BRYs2U8QcOHzRcqsVtz6qxF7Av1UZh-TE_bvRTr1tHvyrR0MYrLBhl_l4DO3K3QQOxV4i3BcTPviWOeoJpIs5Y3npwiDZGkP3duPquYFAj5uxJ5g2plh9JVHR6x04wBVKl8VHVhVkHdZzAPyx9J5hUsO08AaClGXE8Pc/s3086/C02124E4-A967-418C-9715-ECF808A98912.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3086" data-original-width="2785" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjozC2tprR0tttDgPlZF7Q5BRYs2U8QcOHzRcqsVtz6qxF7Av1UZh-TE_bvRTr1tHvyrR0MYrLBhl_l4DO3K3QQOxV4i3BcTPviWOeoJpIs5Y3npwiDZGkP3duPquYFAj5uxJ5g2plh9JVHR6x04wBVKl8VHVhVkHdZzAPyx9J5hUsO08AaClGXE8Pc/w578-h640/C02124E4-A967-418C-9715-ECF808A98912.jpeg" width="578" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0aF220oE5D3kMQCC6_vuTEZA4jJcKNVtPkgNwk8vHwrPCXF6Nq0mlpMI0BWeCCquGvNnKMS_cgn8v01TeDkeXdahEA9Gka8J3dKKmTrYyfk9l60R6hctiS4E9foLzakdIvCcW2-6_YGgDH1HgZS945FFiL8dm3Bb_Rid0iNM5NvV1BOsEUbkb6Nin/s3240/AA6874D0-5394-4991-AEC7-7980739C9A72.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3240" data-original-width="2700" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0aF220oE5D3kMQCC6_vuTEZA4jJcKNVtPkgNwk8vHwrPCXF6Nq0mlpMI0BWeCCquGvNnKMS_cgn8v01TeDkeXdahEA9Gka8J3dKKmTrYyfk9l60R6hctiS4E9foLzakdIvCcW2-6_YGgDH1HgZS945FFiL8dm3Bb_Rid0iNM5NvV1BOsEUbkb6Nin/w534-h640/AA6874D0-5394-4991-AEC7-7980739C9A72.jpeg" width="534" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">My crochet blanket has been a great pick up and go project to do while I am babysitting and my little princess is sleeping. Life gets busy and there doesn't seem to be enough time to do everything. Thankfully that hasn't meant that crafting has been neglected!</p><p>I started a new project in the time I've been away, <a href="https://theredbootquiltcompany.com/49316-2/">My favourite things by Red Boot Quilts.</a> Each week Toni posts some new blocks, it is a free project but you are welcome to make a donation. Such a generous designer. I have decided to needleturn mine as I am not fond of blanket stitch anymore and this makes them a great portable project.</p><p>I printed and prepped the blocks as they were coming out and I just couldn't resist starting them and seeing as they were already to go they have progressed quite quickly and I am caught up with the blocks. Of course I've omitted a few but that's fine with Toni. Not sure how many blocks there will be but so far there is over 50. </p><p>Toni uses buttons for her eyes on the blocks but I have used wool felt for eyes and noses. A great alternative and kiddy safe.</p><p>Prepare for the photo onslaught....</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtjw1Qv2fHS0cCTcGa5ww7nvSk5Pb1L1Y_lLRtlUO56UUOSKo9KxdMFSwzfsI4jeItZD8-kUAHl0ZBPHRAfY_ktnehZTmSbXj3KraMIeZ3g50AGdrtG4MXbFNTlJ7wg-Urdp1yJGtJKMrVxxem1qQKoJToFkFIE473hGv5opwyaMvaBDT_FB0xya7P/s3157/5EA472AB-3545-409E-B507-FB443A5971B9.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; I had hoped to hand quilt it but I think my hand quilting days are all but over. The binding was on Saturday afternoon and as I had poor miss May Gibbs awaiting binding too that got done also.</p><p>The binding for the liberty dresdens has been ready since I cut the borders. Some extra scrappiness to keep with the feel of the quilt. I am going to use my Terrier doily for the label on this one.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKqEw8zWbyslboSvlV_VZv-IGcZQsmxPVbsGZgOOlNR6nRlH2MTvpUUY91xxo70JnVz8VF3BJGBpJGI4OxUOBhGd05FhsDD1F9fJTAgUQiiw7FXYTeEW4NyXQrZBuKECDK1uBl-0O0ixLmhbw469IhJrrlOO9rJ3jozsIAm5tFUkFan92-TovmANXF/s4032/271F61E9-D337-4EB3-B916-68305CF9CF5F.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKqEw8zWbyslboSvlV_VZv-IGcZQsmxPVbsGZgOOlNR6nRlH2MTvpUUY91xxo70JnVz8VF3BJGBpJGI4OxUOBhGd05FhsDD1F9fJTAgUQiiw7FXYTeEW4NyXQrZBuKECDK1uBl-0O0ixLmhbw469IhJrrlOO9rJ3jozsIAm5tFUkFan92-TovmANXF/w480-h640/271F61E9-D337-4EB3-B916-68305CF9CF5F.jpeg" width="480" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0w9eSMbIJb_pPucpif9CrL-NjOIwtB9PtNdEmXFI3iuBltjQH3Sv1UGJ6fxn1nlyc2J3o0HtBnU_pM845xWbwKvOytXRaTrNcMca30tznNcDI-aBYiq3eRCE2J3VYd7EMp8wggwaIFRg9UK9gQlVzR-Dyv5jfKq583aYxVorrJ6A7PiHatY-W5Qeg/s4032/3A065864-6B4B-4047-BD58-3F2CF7859935.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0w9eSMbIJb_pPucpif9CrL-NjOIwtB9PtNdEmXFI3iuBltjQH3Sv1UGJ6fxn1nlyc2J3o0HtBnU_pM845xWbwKvOytXRaTrNcMca30tznNcDI-aBYiq3eRCE2J3VYd7EMp8wggwaIFRg9UK9gQlVzR-Dyv5jfKq583aYxVorrJ6A7PiHatY-W5Qeg/w480-h640/3A065864-6B4B-4047-BD58-3F2CF7859935.jpeg" width="480" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW4P_kjYgrr_DfFiSSKL_nZt1n8oKhSXE2BS9tSyKeV6Iu7T6enxJTLkSYLOBymgF1D9ZgLqUJd4bpVOKoRDHNBCLgD0bZGqRCWYkSEDxlNfPL96swV8YC6BcyEAp13zqTu1LjhCcTE-JclRPOpUSdvf_4KAdvGmnurKJcXwPsVBx0xfcNmK5P3JRs/s4032/F88CFF04-78B6-42BB-8C42-944B56223604.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW4P_kjYgrr_DfFiSSKL_nZt1n8oKhSXE2BS9tSyKeV6Iu7T6enxJTLkSYLOBymgF1D9ZgLqUJd4bpVOKoRDHNBCLgD0bZGqRCWYkSEDxlNfPL96swV8YC6BcyEAp13zqTu1LjhCcTE-JclRPOpUSdvf_4KAdvGmnurKJcXwPsVBx0xfcNmK5P3JRs/w480-h640/F88CFF04-78B6-42BB-8C42-944B56223604.jpeg" width="480" /></a></div>This will be the label for the May Gibbs quilt. Yesterday I got to have a sit and sew with some wonderful crafty people at Mary's shop in Gisborne.</p><p>It seems like forever since I have gone to one of these get togethers thanks to covid and it was a fantastic day with my city girl friends. Lots of laughs and chatting and a super lunch made it a great day. Thankyou so much girls you replenish my happy reserves.</p><p>I brought home some small purchases and more importantly some inspiration-so stay turned.</p><p>I picked up the Heart quilt on wednesday and got it bound straight away. I took it to work on friday but the recipient didn't collect it so I am hoping they come in to work on Monday.</p><p>I am very happy with the final result. Here are some pics</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgcJ5xbszz4dTHxlX6R61i9dfaE8soYmbSS9dukb1kVZGhwDwX5YpwBucr5sLGO0aG0c9rbA_suoqjhooym2xvp8e6qqn6G-X9fWhBUu1FGMhkekCEiEJrMVKZj85BPZS8MqcKprLq26cTi88IxDhkirh2llCbK2PRFJfjSczN_4xwjD9UeXlJUzwgE=s3230" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" data-original-height="2863" data-original-width="3230" height="568" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgcJ5xbszz4dTHxlX6R61i9dfaE8soYmbSS9dukb1kVZGhwDwX5YpwBucr5sLGO0aG0c9rbA_suoqjhooym2xvp8e6qqn6G-X9fWhBUu1FGMhkekCEiEJrMVKZj85BPZS8MqcKprLq26cTi88IxDhkirh2llCbK2PRFJfjSczN_4xwjD9UeXlJUzwgE=w640-h568" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I even managed to stitch a label.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEixQCYHqJf5TKqp1OUeqVSQqDlCLafVHZ8BhjAUS2hdxZiuG4wyd_TzIyRDeC5mBVNObSUkAefDf14A7I9cbcoOmNdg-kROn_q83CLCdIYnA6TjN5fTbaAB4mpMATiW615pKApMNy-NAC7Xub929sdPDmWTleTm8u1726994F3BuKIu91NpYMhKgAsL=s4032" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEixQCYHqJf5TKqp1OUeqVSQqDlCLafVHZ8BhjAUS2hdxZiuG4wyd_TzIyRDeC5mBVNObSUkAefDf14A7I9cbcoOmNdg-kROn_q83CLCdIYnA6TjN5fTbaAB4mpMATiW615pKApMNy-NAC7Xub929sdPDmWTleTm8u1726994F3BuKIu91NpYMhKgAsL=w480-h640" width="480" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEit_AWRgTthKjmP6oJcvEgL5eZ0ViADdkWDc3wCUPVKsTPsR-R2_ob4Wokkl9pqCYuodQOYA_JqM8AtL0c1OeyjANXUji1LO7v-TmY8OgYCS2PuzKbiVkaBpwyKGIjVUf45N0TMG6j0l1GNi2g_B5enwZ_4N_iJP1nH6qVt1ctQKH4VcJjOkLzyTRq3=s4032" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEit_AWRgTthKjmP6oJcvEgL5eZ0ViADdkWDc3wCUPVKsTPsR-R2_ob4Wokkl9pqCYuodQOYA_JqM8AtL0c1OeyjANXUji1LO7v-TmY8OgYCS2PuzKbiVkaBpwyKGIjVUf45N0TMG6j0l1GNi2g_B5enwZ_4N_iJP1nH6qVt1ctQKH4VcJjOkLzyTRq3=w480-h640" width="480" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><p></p><p>After reading Chooky's blog post today celebrating her years of blogging it prompted me to check when my blogaversary might be.</p><p> My first blog post was on the 18th of February 2009, I had few skills but learnt as I went along and was so excited to be joining Blogland.</p><p> Blogging has allowed me to have made some amazing friends some long lasting and some fleeting but I wouldn't have missed it for quids. There have been lapses in blogging and even some times when I questioned whether I would even bother to continue. I must say that the blogging stalwarts like Chooky, Fiona Bubz rugz, Michelle from rag tag stitching, Sue kiwikids have inspired me to keep going and chronicle my crafting so thankyou girls...x</p><p>thankyou to all the lovely people who have crossed my path through blogging.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjfiqcROoX5jMbAtNlMnLypM48lbozIZI6FZQx_yiT1U9zrdbZ_m_NkHs2pA_hoYscdnhLJxsd1VKaTW4OBC3jFJksHiKiuJeGCdqqs87VlmFa36EilxIYkUjiR3Ikb8XGUnzdQa3vfX5nxEUA9jGCTq7M9dV-JZir2CfIHBEW082m3CGVecs0m9Qhx=s3210" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3210" data-original-width="2450" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjfiqcROoX5jMbAtNlMnLypM48lbozIZI6FZQx_yiT1U9zrdbZ_m_NkHs2pA_hoYscdnhLJxsd1VKaTW4OBC3jFJksHiKiuJeGCdqqs87VlmFa36EilxIYkUjiR3Ikb8XGUnzdQa3vfX5nxEUA9jGCTq7M9dV-JZir2CfIHBEW082m3CGVecs0m9Qhx=w305-h400" width="305" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>marinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04996325525301046700noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2153748473771681458.post-83486047618182365212022-02-14T16:24:00.001+11:002022-02-14T16:25:44.299+11:00Valentines day.....Wow where did the past month go? Once it's back to work the days seem to just run away from me.<div>Some sewing has been getting done and some quilts that have made their way to the front of the queue.</div><div>Firstly I picked up my lovely May Gibbs quilt and the binding is all prepped ready to go. It was a top that I had hoped to hand quilt but I don't think that is a realistic option at the moment as some pains in my fingers and arm won't be too happy about it so I took it to be machine quilted today. As I had been very enthusiastic about the hexie flowers originally of course I had gone and cut heaps of them so that they would be ready to go but now they will get to become a project of their own replacing the hearts as my ready to go project. So much for cutting down on projects!</p><p>So all I have to share this week is some crochet progress (stalled as I had incorrectly ordered a colour) and the start of some liberty hexie flowers.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEi0lp1Fk0Z1urttPVWIDa4n1ELdnn7Og8pLmCGPKrc6O30VQr3sKNo5566jaY6WjAEKcJqnY3Nu3ZSk12RVRZiyLvhq5AABdjHmZqequg3tAOW9VECK-4reYE0mSqe-GRuFkVl0ZLljq0N2bwWsMtIPD87zPf5sXhX9eYVPGdwS8KaqI-u3JC_-MJ0Z=s4032" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEi0lp1Fk0Z1urttPVWIDa4n1ELdnn7Og8pLmCGPKrc6O30VQr3sKNo5566jaY6WjAEKcJqnY3Nu3ZSk12RVRZiyLvhq5AABdjHmZqequg3tAOW9VECK-4reYE0mSqe-GRuFkVl0ZLljq0N2bwWsMtIPD87zPf5sXhX9eYVPGdwS8KaqI-u3JC_-MJ0Z=w480-h640" width="480" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEj8iMTmDPkTn57KV-0C4bSrLTdLpHJcmvRcPGaQOn_Q6xnI11Bz1TbJ0_B_UFNNEBXA0XMW5Hh0zc7-1MDUOZF7ICCzfnv4291hGv0aADHL467tht3UVzBlrng_ufPOfVxLAtUJ1Ru1vbdef9acfatDEm3p40F2MFSFpr9x72hBZEJbhmq_zL3iYR0k=s4032" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEj8iMTmDPkTn57KV-0C4bSrLTdLpHJcmvRcPGaQOn_Q6xnI11Bz1TbJ0_B_UFNNEBXA0XMW5Hh0zc7-1MDUOZF7ICCzfnv4291hGv0aADHL467tht3UVzBlrng_ufPOfVxLAtUJ1Ru1vbdef9acfatDEm3p40F2MFSFpr9x72hBZEJbhmq_zL3iYR0k=w480-h640" width="480" /></a></div><br /><p>Happy Days</p><p><br /></p><p>Marina</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>marinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04996325525301046700noreply@blogger.com6
