civil war vs 30's fabrics.

While working on my swap gifts I have been trying to decide on which fabrics to use for my Sweet Nostalgia blocks!
What do you guys think?
30's           or                 civil war repro.

the 30's definitely look fresh and the civil war look warm.
I don't want to cut until I am absolutely sure so I will keep stitching block 12 for now.
I nearly have done all the swap goodies for Judit just one more to go - that 'U' has got me stumped a little. I have started on the swap goodies for Odbjorg while I search for the perfect 'U' item.
The cold wintry weather has struck again in Melbourne, where has the sun gone?

    My vote is for the 30's, sure will make it a fun, happy quilt.

    Oh, I wonder what will be in my package, but I guess I have to wait until it arrives :-))
    I know some of the gifts I'll send you, but I haven't made any yet. For the next 2 days I'll be away. May be I can have a productive weekend.

    I like the 30's. The stitching seems to pop a bit more, plus it makes the blocks seem more sweet and cheerful. Sweet Nostalgia is good, sweet, memories. Whichever you choose, the quilt will be beautiful, Marina.

    I like the civil war fabrics....seems to make the colors in the embroidary pop.

    I keep coming back to look at your two examples and I keep going to the 30's prints. I am not sure if I am being influenced by Dorothy's picture. I do think that these lighter and brighter prints have a greater relationship to the theme of the quilt. What have you decided?

    My first pick would be the 30's fabric, nice and cheerful but then the CW is calming so I guess I'm not much help.

    Oh, I am jealous you have gotten so far on your blocks. One day!
    I think the 30's fabric is cute because I saw Dorothy's quilt done in them but I do Like the civil war fabrics a lot.

    Ummm...Yes! They are itty bitty! Look lovely though. As for your blocks they are just perfect and I can't wait to see what they will look like when finished.
